Northallerton Town FC have been selected as part of a national pilot for The FA’s Self Help Facility Improvement Programme.

This programme is a community volunteer programme which helps local football clubs to improve their facilities. It is an opportunity for our club to gather members, supporters, friends and family for a weekend of fun-filled DIY.

The club will be working hard to co-ordinate a community-wide effort to give their club a much needed ‘make-over’ in advance of the season ahead. They will be hosting an event over the weekend of Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th June 2014.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in a good news story and receive public exposure and media coverage about how a community has come together to improve local facilities. This is a key initiative The FA are confident will have a positive impact across Grassroots Football.

Andrew King, The FA’s Facilities and Investment Project Officer: “At a local level, this programme will make a real difference in meeting the needs of grass roots football clubs as determined by them. The Scheme will value volunteers and provide a platform to generate new volunteers for participating clubs. It will help attract more players, spectators, coaches, administrators to the club both through the event and through better facilities. It will facilitate ‘in kind’ fundraising and create an opportunity to sustain a new sponsor or value an existing one. We are confident that this will help clubs to foster relationships with local residents and businesses.”

This is a great opportunity for Northallerton Town FC and will help them grow and achieve their aims.

If you would like to find out more information on the programme or would like to volunteer your services or donate materials, please contact Peter Young: peter@pnyoung.freeserve.co.uk
