Alnwick Town 2-0 Birtley Town (HT)
Alnwick Town 4-1 Birtley Town (FT)

Ross Straughan, Jon Colley, Keith Douglas (pen) and Kieran Hogg secured a comfortable win in the end of the home side.

Birtley did made Glasper do some work during the game. One save for the cameras was top notch as the Birtley lad hit a half volley from distance sweet as a nut.

In the end we got 4, but missed a couple of other chances to reduce our goal difference.

Not sure about Birtley, but we went into this game without our 2 regular strikers and wingers.

Jon Colley again put in a decent performance. Keith Douglas up front organising. Young Dom Schiavetta on the wing would have probably been with the reserves but their game was called off. He put in a proper wingers performance. Ran at the full back every chance he got, great to see.

Colley's goal was a cracking hit, brining down a volleyed crossed from Danny Lowes and putting it in the bottom corner.

Kieran Hogg's probably shaded it, lobbing the keeper in the last minute from distance. No easy feat given the height of the Birtley keeper.

Good win. Need to build on it and keep getting points on the board before the end of the season.
