It's been a great season so far from a Saxons perspective, plenty of ups and downs. Travelled to many grounds that I've never been to before and enjoyed every one in their own way. Stone Dominoes for example surely have the best playing surface in the league, it looked even better than the 4G surface at Stockport Sports Village. Glossop's club house had been extended since my last trip to Surrey Street & as usual I enjoyed my trip there. The atmosphere as usual was excellent. The best ground we've been to so far has been Runcorn Linnetts and that was coupled with a fantastic atmosphere, there will not be many clubs that relish playing games there this season. My personal opinion is that Runcorn are the best side we have played so far this season, closely followed by (strangely considering their league position) Stone, their front three were fantastic against us in August.

Bootle were pretty good, but I wouldn't say they were better than us on the day, was a pretty even game. I'd fancy us to pinch a win next time we face them, although looking at their results perhaps they had an off day against us last time too. With the improvements we've made since the clash in the FA Vase next month should be a cracker.

St Helens Town seem to win programme of the year each season and theirs is probably the best I've seen so far this season, Bootle's is also very impressive. As a fan of stats I also liked the programme produced by Alsager.

There's loads of games left to play & loads of grounds to visit still so my opinions may change, but heopefully the next few months will be as enjoyable as the first couple we've had this season.

Interesting stuff. It's always good visiting new grounds when entering a new division.

Good to hear that you are enjoying it and thanks for the complimentary comments on Runcorn Linnets :D

You could see that your side were a work in process when you visited the Millbank Linnets Stadium so no surprise to see that yous have hit a bit of form and moved up the league.
