NORTH RIDING FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
Redcar Athletic Reserves 5-2 Lingdale Village
Stokesley Reserves 8-1 Stokesley AR

Redcar Newmarket extended their lead at the top of the North Riding Football League Premier Division with a thumping victory over struggling Staithes.

After a quiet first half, which yielded just one goal, hosts Newmarket took control around the hour mark. Michael Dowse was the star with four goals- Jamie Graham, Chris Hodgson, Dan McCauley and Russ Buckley were also on target. Carl Flatters netted an injury-time consolation for the visitors.

Redcar Town also remain unbeaten, in second, after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over previously undefeated St Marys 1947. Josh Butters netted the vital goal around the half hour.

Boro Rangers ended their early-season blip with a 6-3 success at Thornaby Dubliners, with a fine late show from their powerful forward line. Gary Mitchell put the Dubliners ahead on 12 minutes, but Matty McQueeney quickly levelled and Coy Blake turned the match on its head before the half-hour. However, Mitchell struck again to make it 2-2 before Stuart Rose sent Rangers in ahead on the stroke of half-time. Dubliners weren't done though as Jake Vaughan made it 3-3 on the hour. Joe Woods reinstated Rangers' lead on 65 minutes, but it wasn't until Rose's second on 88 and McQueeney's last-minute goal that the result was put beyond doubt.

Despite finishing the match with ten men, Billingham Town Reserves continued their strong start to the campaign with a 2-0 success at winless Yarm and Eaglescliffe. Tom Harrison was dismissed for violent conduct, but Aaron Doyle and Jacob Storey found the net for Town's second string.

Nunthorpe's defensive woes continued as visitors Fishburn Park smashed home six with just Tom Atkinson's goal in reply. The Whitby side, who are one of just two 100% sides in the Premier Division, found the net through Jake Faichney's hat-trick and further strikes from Callum Halley and Dan Brown, after Richard Mills' own goal put them ahead.

BEADS are the other 100% side as they edged a five-goal thriller at Grangetown. Dec Morrison and Ryan Thompson scored for the Boys Club, but a Michael Shellard brace and Denis Alderson's goal saw the Middlesbrough outfit home.

In Division One, Stokesley Sports Club Reserves also hit eight, this time, against neighbours Stokesley Armstrong Richardson. It took 20 minutes before ex-Middlesbrough striker Andy Campbell's corner was cleared out to James Dowson, who took it in his stride and hammered home from 14 yards for 1-0. Dion McInnes then set up Dan Caney to round the keeper for 2-0, just before half-time. Two goals in a minute, early in the second period, from Charlie Brady- a superb solo effort and a headed strike from Campbell's cross- put Sports Club Reserves in command. However, Robert Bell fired back for the visitors, before Sam Pears curled in a brilliant solo effort, with sub Jordan Walker also netting from distance. Brady finished a superb one-touch move late on for his treble, with Walker hammering home from long range for the eighth.

Finally, Redcar Athletic battled back from a 2-0 deficit to put five past visitors Lingdale Village. Aaron Dale (2), Marcus Wood, Charlie Brockbank and Joe McGlade netted for Redcar, after the visitors' early goals from Brian Combellack and Mikey Willians.

Thornaby Dubliners 3- 6 Boro Rangers

Went to this game and thoroughly enjoyed an entertaining encounter. The Dubliners did well to keep Boro Rangers at 3-3 until fairly late in the game when the Boro's powerful forward line became too strong for the home defence. Outstanding performances by Mitchell and the keeper (he made at least four outstanding saves) for the home side, and the number 9 (don't know his name) for Boro Rangers.
