Which legue do people think is the most influential... with news that the Teesside League Div1 is now the same level as the wearside League.
The Teesside league has 2 Divisions.... does this mean the league is more competative?
another thought... in the past few years Teesside teams "promoted" to the wearside league normally finish Top/mid table.... the bottom wearside league teams don't get relegated!!!

Teesside League Division One is not at the same level as the Wearside League. It is only a step 7b league and not full step 7. Although there are some good teams at the top of the Teesside League the majority of other teams would struggle in the Wearside League. If the Teesside League truly is as strong as the Wearside League why would Richmond Town have bothered to make the switch?

both Leagues winners can apply to the Northern league........... "b" or "no b" that says same to me. Richmond went up last year, so don't see the logic there... and not doing too bad this year ;-)

I think what etseeketsee is getting at it is that if Richmond Town could have stayed in the Teesside League and developed their facilities, and realised their ambition of Northern League football then why move to the Wearside and increase their travel costs and possibly make it harder for them to achieve a top of the table finish?

yeah I understand that Andy... but when they appllied last season they didn't know that the league would be step7"B" this year... if they had then they probably would have stayed and saved themselves a load of money

Although the Northern League can now accept teams from the Teesside League they are under no obligation to do so. With only 2 promotion places to the NL up for grabs, if a team from each of the 3 feeder leagues apply from a promotion place I know which 2 league's teams will probably be accepted. The FA have made a bit of a rod for their own backs by introducing 7a and 7b leagues. They should have either left things as they were or made them full step 7 leagues.

i rekon that one or two clubs would do ok as teams such as Grangetown boys club have given northern league clubs a good game
