League is up to 10 teams now so I've been told. No idea on the new teams though. It'll be interesting to see who there is aside from Horden

Sorry for no updates just been busy with work and other stuff.

The AGM was Tuesday 20th held at DFA.

9 clubs confirmed

Durham City Reserves
Hall Farm Glasshus
West Auckland Tunns
Wheatley Hill WMC

5 new clubs have been accepted

Farringdon
Horden
Hylton
Jarrow
Lumley

The league in conjunction with DFA are talking with 2-3 prospective clubs and we as a league are confident we should have at least double figures of teams for the season.

All clubs at the AGM were informed of the future plans which are at an early stage so i am not commenting on these as it will be unfair to the league, clubs and anyone else involved in these plans. All i can say over the next 10 month i will be in a better place to confirm everything.

I look forward to this season as we have worked really hard to keep this league going and protect it in the future which the management committee will keep on doing to protect saturday football at this level in the area.

That said we are keeping open applications for new teams going until end of August.

Excellent news Steve hopefully you will make double figures with entrants making 18 scheduled games coupled with various Cup competitions then all teams should have a 25-30 game season

Doesn't the league have ambitions to eventually achieve step 7 status? How realistic are they to actually achieving this? How many of the current clubs have step 7 status grounds?

Windy

Step seven is something to look at in the future and there is a number of clubs in the league that have the facilities to achieve this

Hats off to yous fellas for keeping this league going mustn't be easy. I remember playing in this league a while back really good and competitive. Again well done. Would love to know where grassroots football is going wrong.

I know the difficulties in achieving step 7 status. With the Wearside league covering your area as well, it looks a difficult prospect to say the least. Ambitious clubs will want to be in a step league. Whether that's the height of there ambitions, or if they want to climb the pyramid. Am I correct in saying that to achieve step 7 status, a league must have a minimum of 14 clubs. All with step 7 status grounds & only a certain percentage can be reserve teams? If a club seeks grants to improve there facilities, are there any difficulties in receiving these grants when the club is in a league that's below step 7?

I believe that to receive funding for ground improvements a club must be at Step 7 and also either own their own ground or have a 25 year lease off the local authority.

apparently they're ran by Jamie Pollock!
They were in the TJFA league, on pics on their twitter account, it looks like they played on a 3G, I don't recognise the location though.

It's at the old Territorial Army site on the Trunk Road Middlesbrough just up from Skippers Lane Industrial Estate and half a mile down the road from Lidl. To find it coming off the A66 from the North turn right at the roundabout that's supposed to represent a cornfield (upright metal rods), into Cargo Fleet Lane. Straight down until you see Lidl and you turn left at the traffic lights there onto the Trunk Road. Look for a big brick 2 storey building and blue & yellow bunting on your left. That’s the place.
