From the Alliance's Facebook page.
Representatives of the Durham County FA and the Durham Alliance Combination League met earlier this week to discuss a way forward to try and address the decline of eleven aside Saturday afternoon adult football within the County.

It has been agreed, subject to agreement with the current league members, that a new League be formed under the name of the ‘Durham County FA Alliance Saturday Afternoon League’.
Current members of the Durham Alliance Combination League and others who have shown an interest to join the Durham County FA League will be invited to a meeting to discuss the venture.
It is hoped eventually that the League will have teams playing in it who have playing facilities equal to what is required for Step 7 of the National League System.
Fees will be kept to the very minimum and it is hoped that with the Durham County FA involvement more teams will consider entry.
This demonstrates the commitment to supporting the adult 11v11 game through working in partnership and it is hoped that it will provide a high level playing experience and service to clubs who join in the coming seasons.
Should anyone want to join this new league or would like further information please contact Mark Smith, Durham County FA Leagues Officer on 0191 3872929 (Option 1 then Option 2) or email Mark.Smith@DurhamFA.com

Or Contact Kieran Downey the League Secretary

It would appear that this is happening all over the Country with County FAs taking over the running of local adult 11v11 leagues in an attempt to save the game. The North Riding have taken over the Teesside League and Eskdale & Cleveland League and created the North Riding Football League with a Premier Division a Division One and are introducing an U19 Division good luck to both new Leagues.
