Watched them twice since you left don. And they couldn't be any further away from strong if they tried.

Pi ss poor is an understatement. 1st div challenge maybe in the pdsl Sunday league.

Committee are not interested in the slightest. They had the best chance ever in you and Andy and they threw that chance away so they are clueless.

Sorry for the rant. Just I have been watching them since 1992.

It was a real shame the way things turned out 2bh, we had a squad that we felt was capable of acheiving the goals needed at the club, playing football the right way, great team morale and all seemed to be fine...

But thats football and after the messages etc. weve recieved, your certainly not the only one who feels like "ranting" so wouldnt worry too much about it :)....
Hopefully the club can still acheive its objectives ....

Things are starting to get interesting at the top of the table as Whitehills seem to have lost form recently and dropping points -only one point ahead of Coundon, albeit with a game in hand, and Whitehills have a tougher last 10games or so.
Coundon are still in 5 cups and this may play a role dividing their focus.

The side that Lee Collins is putting together at Murton will also be a factor, i cant see Murton winning the league but they will get stronger as the season goes on with a few nl lads signing

It looks like Whitehill will take some halting for the league title after todays results....

British Legion will not beat Whitehill twice, Whitehill to win league at a canter closely followed by Coundon now that they have got themselves sorted, also Leam Rangers are worth a mention to be in the mix if they can find some consistency.
British Legion's poor early form have cost them their title defence, they might be decent enough for a cup tho!!!!

It's beginning to look like my earlier prediction that Whitehill will win the league at a canter was spot on, from the games i have seen this season they have been the only half decent team producing any sort of consistency, they could also pick up a few cups as well.
There has'nt been much competition from the other teams this season, does anyone know if there have been any applicants from teams wanting to join the Durham Alliance for next season, as the league could certainly do with a few more teams to bring a bit more quality and competition at the top end????

I'm not sure about that but I think the biggest worry might be losing teams. They've lost about 4 or 5 teams in the last couple of seasons and at present with 13 teams I'd imagine losing any more would be catastrophic.

There are strong rumours of a Wearside league 2nd division, which could well impact on the Durham league.....
From what I've heard the Durham Aliance have objected to this to the FA...

From what I have seen of the teams this season I dont think a Wearside 2nd division will be of any detriment to the Durham Alliance as there may only be one or two teams from the Durham league decent enough to hold their own in the Wearside.
Coundon are good on their day but are inconsistent and only seem to get a full strength team out in 'big' games and Whitehill who have been the most consistent as the league table shows.
There will also have to be ground improvements from both of the above as I believe neither have facilities that satisfy Wearside standards.

I agree marron Whitehill facilities look good, although the pitch does not have any dug-outs nor does it have a barrier other than a fence surrounding the running track!!!

I would have thought if Whitehill did have any ambition they would have made the step before now as they seem to have been at the top end of the Durham Alliance for a number of years now...??
I may be wrong but they seem to be comfortable being the 'big' fish in a 'little' pond.

Well dugouts could be wheeled up from the 4g pitch and a fence round the pitch wouldnt be a problem, but i agree if they were going to move up it would have and should have been 3-4 seasons ago in my opinion. I certainly thought they should have but im pals with the manager, players, committee and i cannot see it happening for a while but hey you never know.

League titles are won by stayers and Whitehills broke down in last two furlongs leaving Coundon to win the title last night -going away.
He also said they were inconsistent. Not dropped a league point since early October and reached 5 Cup Finals!!

Do you know if counden are wanting to go up into the wearside league just with the money they've paid out on players you'd think they would
