Gateshead FC

Gateshead FC owners Richard and Julie Bennett have agreed a deal in principle to sell their shares in the club to an overseas consortium, subject to FA and National League ratification.
Following the agreement, Gateshead FC Managing Director Brian Waites commented: “It has been a frantic and intense period. We have been overwhelmed by both the high level and quality of enquiries and wish to thank all those parties who have expressed interest in Gateshead Football Club.

“At this stage, we remain under non-disclosure agreements and unable to divulge the identity of any of the parties that we have been in discussions with.

“Our potential new owners have supported their interest with an exciting vision for the future and it is their intention to retain both the football and operational management teams.

“We will continue to work closely during the next few weeks with the consortium, Football Association and National League to conclude the deal as quickly and efficiently as we possibly can.”

The Vanarama National League club say further information will be released in due course.

Eastleigh FC

MARK Jewell will become new Eastleigh chairman following Stewart Donald’s purchase of Sunderland.

Jewell will vacate his chief executive officer’s role as part of the ownership changes at the Silverlake Stadium which will see him, Kenny Amor, Tom Coffey and Joanne Sprigg purchase a controlling interest in the National League club from Donald and his family.

“We are, therefore, now able to confirm that an agreement has been made for the above trio and current chief executive officer Mark Jewell to purchase a controlling interest of the football club from Stewart Donald and his family.

“The new owners are due to be formally introduced to the National League’s executive board during the National Conference at the Celtic Manor on Saturday, June 9.
