Former Darlo owner Raj Singh is apparently the money man that is financing the Jeff Stelling bid to takeover.

Not something I'd be in favour of if I was
Pools fan, as desperate as they are.

Better to reform as a phoenix club than get involved with this clown.

Sometimes it's a good thing to start again, especially if the council will rent you the ground fairly cheaply

Mmmhh, the fans couldn't afford to buy Darlo from admin with a CVA. Without the CVA the golden football share was completely irrelevant in terms of where Darlo ended up. It's probably why nobody asked Singh for it when buying the assets because it is worthless in this case. Even if Singh had handed it over for free, it would have made no difference at all to Darlo as only the assets were bought (name, goodwill, 50% sell on clauses etc) and the liabilities weren't addressed with a CVA so they'd have played their next season in ENL regardless of where the golden share was. What Darlo fans did in buying the assets was absolutely the right thing to do. There was no other option available to keep the club going in some form and the CVA would have cost far more than a fans run club could sustain.
Pools are not in the same situation and hopefully the consortium deal goes through and they avoid administration. If Singh has any sense, the first thing he'll do is completely restructure the club in the first month or two. It's far too fat all over to thrive as a non-league club and hopefully get back to the FL. Their running costs are probably 8-10x greater than Darlo or Spenny yet they play one league higher than we do with not a huge gap between the leagues on the pitch. Crazy really.
