If these are true, no reason to doubt it Halifax or should I say MassiveFax are going for it next season

Dan Gardener
Dale Johnson
Dave Carnell
Chris Worsley
Shelton Payne
Gareth Seddon
Jon Worthington
Ben Futcher
James Walshaw

Some pretty decent signings there

Where have you got this info from, seen some of the players mentioned on the Shaymen forum but not this list before.

Futcher, Worthington and Seddon should be good signings, don't know much about the rest apart from Payne who is a bit of a tail end. Would be very very very shocked to see Walswhore back at the San Shayro again whilst Aspin is manager.

Well fairly accurate Aladdin. Glad we did not get Walshaw, not very popular at the Shay. Read somewhere Carnell has had a change of mind.

What's the feeling at The Shay then this season, do you see yourselves at title favourites or not? In terms of winning the league, it's hard to see past Halifax I think.

Not sure Bambi.

We ended up 3rd last season and in the play-offs. In anybodys currency that is a decent season so to better it will be a task and a half.

In Futcher and Worthington we have some proven Football League Class who are still at a decent age. The other signings are all proven BSN standard lads which on paper is nice but we signed some 'proven BSN' players last season, most of them ended up out the door by xmas and Aspin turned back to his trusted NPL players.

The squad is still a bit thin and numbers wise does not compare at all to yours in that respect.

If they all gel and we stay injury and suspension free as possible then we have a chance. Im expecting us to be well in the top 5 mix from start to finish. Hopeful of a title assault but realise how hard that will be. And to be a Halifax Town fan 'expecting' a title is daft talk really. The last two titles were in 'pub leagues' with all due respect. BSN is tough, rough @rse league.

Im actually glad to be in the same league as Chester. They are a bigger club and hopefully it will take some pressure and expectation away from us.

Good post Memorex. We are in with a good shout this season, so long as we have good home form, our away form was as good as Hydes last season. Home games at the Shay seemed to be nervous affairs for some of the players-too much expectation after two succesive championships- a position Chester are now in.
Cannot see another Hyde coming from nowhere this season to win it.

My top five in any order
FC Halifax Town
Chester FC
Guiseley AFC(Heavily bankrolled)
Altrincham
Gainsborough Trinity(Massive budget last season if rumours true)

Dark Horse
Worcester City

Worcester or Altrincham are my tips for the title. With either of the two joining us, Chester and Guiseley in the play offs

I expect the two of us to fight to the death for the title. The rest are realistically arguing over 2 play off spots. Guisley reached their apogee last year, have a weaker squad now and will begin their slide back into obscurity in the coming season. Alty are the pick of the rest and likeliest to make a tilt at the title. :|

They seem hell bent on returning to the football league – at all costs.

But, they'll be in administration with three years and starting again in the county leagues.

On what do you base this ludicrous assertion. We may have spent some cash on this year's squad but it's all money the club has earned. We have no directors tipping bucket loads of cash into the club, neither have we borrowed money to pay for it. All paid for in cash.

Sorry to disappoint.
