Played in wrong areas costs us again, naivity cost us again, thats as simple as that.
Credit to Swaz and Ryhope, played the nl way, up to the front men who took their goals superbly, they knew when to play and when to turn the pull from back to front.

Lesson have to be learned from top to bottom and mistakes should be acknowledged!!

I personally don't think it was naivety i just think it was poor individual mistakes and were punished of a really good strikeforce !!

I think the fact that they tried to play out from the back at every opportunity, ie: goalkicks, freekicks and from the goalkeeper showed how comfortable on the ball the whole 11 were !!

They kept a lot of the passes really short until the time and space was there to exploit the areas the Birtley defenders had vacated due to calmness of the Ryhope players and then they pounced !!

Very industrial team, very comfortable in possession and lethel up top !!

From what i have seen they should go on to win it very comfortably !!

Im talking from a Birtley point of view....
We were not comfortable on the ball though, we constantly gave it away in wrong areas and as you say Winny punished us and also set up jb for his two goals.

When saying naivity i mean playing in wrong areas. In all honesty how many times did ryhope score from us losing ball in dangerous area, i counted 4 of the 6 goals.

Ryhope are a very good side and look a good bet to win the title but i felt we contributed to making it a touch easy for them.

Thought you lacked direction mate. Huffed n puffed but got no where. Def not the birtley I know. Even kegs was very quiet.

Second half changed things a bit after you came on mate, passed it superbly and it showed, first half no shots on goal, second half 3 shots on target (2 from you ) I think.

Impression I got was no heart or desire from the teAm and an acceptance of defeat.

Just my opinion.

By far the superior team in this game,Birtley kept it tight for about 20 mins but after that pretty much one way traffic,and birtley non existent in first half

Tbh the second half they had a go huffed and puffed but still lacked abit composure and creativity on the ball.

End of the day I agree birtley gave the ball away in daft areas and in the second half a case of pushing on and tired legs after chasing the game for long periods left gaps for Ryhope to expose and afterall they have scored 60+ in 15 games.
