Well from last tuesday v whitehaven and getting 3 point we didn't deserve it was the other way round tonight. We miss at least five 1 on 1s and right at the death smarty was unlucky with a fizzing strike.
TIme after time we got in behind cls but found ourselves 1 down with the cls forward to poked the ball over bussey from 25 yards, we equalised but again conceded a poor 2nd and couldn't find the equaliser. Credit to big donnas and the other centre half mind first half they couldn't handle the front two but 2nd half a lot tighter.

Good luck to wakey and cls for the remainder of the season.

Fair enough summary of the game Maz. I don't think there is a better keeper in the league in 1-1 situations than Matty Crook. Thought Birtley played well but didn't particularly like the long ball tactics but it did work well in the first half. Think you are being a bit down on Adam Strong for the first goal. It was a cracking shot with the inside of the foot rather than a poke. Birtley will definitely win more than they will loose this season - strong side. All the best from CLS

Well Strongy actually admitted it was a toe poke and Niko was howling that it went in
With regards long ball tactics we have one of the quickest strikers in the league and play to strengths.

End to end game could have gone either way. The toe poke was intentional and was a top class finish at this level. No complaints personally about Birtley playing Route 1 - as Maz says that is their strength. Cestrian dead right about our keeper, does very well in those 1v1 bearing down on goal situations but as we both know he has lots more to his game. Talked to a couple of neutrals and it wasnt the best game for them. Me I enjoyed it.
