the sportsmans dinner on saturday night was a huge success, well done to all the organisers, there was a lot of work went into the evening from all concerned, especially the instigator of the evening, norman smith, well done mate,,, the guest speaker Joey Jones was as good an after dinner speaker as iv seen, he kept the audience entertained with his humour and tales of his career.. an absolute gentleman as well, he insisted on getting a round of drinks in when we were supposed to be looking after him.. comedian scott bennett was also very entertaining,, a very funny man...all in all a very successfull evening,, roll on the next one

I have to agree with Wilf, well done to him,Norman,Andrew and John Brennan for a great night out. These nights are a pig to organise and I take my hat off to the 3 gents from the Football Club and John from the Cricket Club. You never seem to make the profit that all the hard work deserves but they have the grateful thanks of all the members of the SC who attended.

I know the main reason of these nights is to make a profit for the sports clubs, which we certainly did, but for everyone to have a really great night and be entertained by the 2 speakers was what really made this a great success. The fact that we made some money for Cricket and football in the town was a great bonus. I certainly wouldn't say no in helping to do another one in the future, but it would be good to see more people support us. Maybe we should get a few names and let members of the club or suppoerters club make suggestions who'll they like to see
