This Saturday we have a very tough game as we travel to Wearside league side Sunderland West End for a Durham Trophy Quarter Final.

Sunderland WE are on a 12 game unbeaten run that extends back to early October and in their last outing they thrashed Windscale 10-0. In the previous round of the Durham Trophy they also beat fellow Northern Alliance side Birtley Town 3-2.

Injuries have ransacked our squad lately but we showed excellent spirit in our last game to fight back from 0-2 to come away with a point. That extended our own unbeaten run to 5 games.

Kick off is 1:30pm and the post code is SR4 0RW. The game must be finished on the day and will go straight to penalties if the score is even after 90 mins.

They beat us 4.3 in the Challenge cup Falcon not the Trophy, we got thrown out the trophy for playing a player who had played for Whickham for 20 mins a few weeks earlier. . No fault of anyone's bar our own, and they deservedly were given the game. Even though Hartlepool Town were given the information from an unbelievable source. Make sure your players have no northern league appearances in the previous 28 days which i am sure you will, 8) 8)

Good luck Falcon and keep the alliance flag flying mate

Thanks Colin,

Yes, we're well aware of that rule as last year Boldon were thrown out for similar circumstances after playing us.

No doubt you are aware as we were, but if a player decides to play for a Northern League club and dosnt tell you thats where its so easy to be caught out. Believe me there's always someone out there willing to drop you in the crap as we found out.
We know we were wrong and its right we were excluded but its a sickner when you find out that someone not connected to either club gets on the phone to drop you in it.
Never mind tho i am sure they sleep soundly ,

This game is off due to an unplayable pitch.

It has been re-scheduled for Saturday 9 December.

As per the rules of Durham FA's County Cups, last week's postponement means we try again this Saturday:

Sunderland West End v Rutherford
Saturday 9 December, 1:30pm

Apologies for the delay in posting but for the 2nd week in a row the game was postponed, this time due to a frozen pitch.

Again, following last week's 2nd postponement and as per the rules of Durham FA's County Cups, we try again this Saturday:

Sunderland West End v Rutherford
Saturday 16 December, 1:30pm (weather permitting!)

Also on Saturday will be the £250 CASH Christmas draw!

We have been informed by Durham FA that should the home team's pitch be unavailable, we must look at the possibility of switching to ours.

However, I bet both pitches are frozen solid at the minute!

As expected, the game is off due to a frozen pitch.

As it has now been postponed three times, it now automatically switches to be our home game.

As mentioned, this tie now automatically becomes our home tie which is the rules under Durham FA.

However, our pitch is suffering in similar ways to Sunderland WE's so it's more a case of who's pitch will be ready first.

Weather looks like it may improve this week so fingers crossed!

Well, another twist to the tale.

We were under the impression that if a game is postponed three times then it automatically switches and becomes our home game. However, when we asked Durham FA to clarify the response was that they 'simply want the game played, they don't care where'.

So who is at home yet we don't know, and as weather is improving the chances are that both pitches are playable. I'll post another update as soon as we know more.

Haha, exactly! I can appreciate they want the game played, we all did, but there's got to be a proper plan in place. Maybe they'll learn from this experience...
