Rutherford 3-2 Felling Magpies

Great to have a run out against our neighbours. Their young side played decent stuff as we gave opportunities to a number of new faces.

Rutherford 2-5 Esh Winning

Very entertaining game that was probably too open for any manager to enjoy(!) but great for us spectators. Umpteen chances at both ends with the game played in great spirit.

However, the performance on the pitch was overshadowed by what looked like a very nasty injury to one of the Esh defenders. Whether it's ligament damage or not we can only wait and pray it's not too serious. No-one should have to finish a game being carted off to hospital.

All the very best to Esh Winning in their Northern League campaign but more importantly, a speedy recovery to their player.

Been a bit slow on updating our friendlies so here's the full list.

Rutherford 0-3 Hazelrigg Victory
Rutherford 6-1 Seghill
Rutherford 2-1 Whitburn Athletic
Blyth Town 7-3 Rutherford

Overall it's been a great chance for Mick and his coaches to experiment quite a bit with players and formations, and it's safe to say we've all learned a lot. Now it's time for the league action to return to starting on Saturday 12 August.
