Saw them play against Stone Dominoes last night, they looked a very decent outfit. They were not lying when they said they could do serious damage this season, Stone got very lucky on more than one occasion and most of the defending was frantic.

Matt Haddrell will hit a ball from anywhere, he had two shots from outside the box (a left foot 20 yard strike into the corner) then a 25 yard right foot free-kick. He is a very good player, as was the 7 & 9 playing last night.

I think the Millers can edge Congleton if results keep going well but Congleton & New Mills encounters will be the big ties in this year's Premier.

Congleton always were going to be one of the main protagonists this season, along with Rammy and Bootle. Maine Road may well be a surprise package for me, but having seen them play us off the park at Brantingham Road towards the end of last season, perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. Their results so far suggest they could be a force.

We will certainly need to up the ante somewhat if we are to compete with these clubs. We rode our luck a little last night and while we played the much more attractive football, if it hadn't been for a rather fortunate deflection by Simon Howard for an own goal from a header which was more likely to trouble the corner flag than the keeper, then we would not be sharing top spot at the moment.
