Death of a Career.

Hopelessly shackled and stiffled in the back four, the attacking goalscoring efforts of the past six seasons have been neutered from his game and left him a pale shadow of the force he used to be; observers have the opinion that the end is near.

Some of us are so old we have passed adult and are back to second childhood. So you need to cut us a bit of slack.

20+ goals a season how do the otherside plan to stop the King scoring?. No need to bother we keep doing it for them. In defence of the faithful we have posted this stance "ad nauseam" dating back to the previous manager incurring his wrath at Newcastle circa 1066.

How many adults were there to see our man do his stuff today? Us kids cheered both finishes.

When the Stocksbridge goalie walked that evened up the numbers.
Youngie and Innes looked good in centre mid.
Happy to see the chains off.
Shame about Coatesie. One bad game and .....
When we pass and move, it's magic.
Too many high and hopeful down the wings, maybe no outlet?
But when we keep the ball down we can take on anyone.

Couldn't agree more.

I have never seen the long ball work for us in the five years that I have been watching. We don't have the front men to make it work.

I can't see why we even bother trying it.

It was great to see Innes back we miss him so much. He does the messy bits well and is only noticed when he's not there....... if that makes sense.

If Moore and Leon can stay fit they will give us a strike force worthy of the name. The young lad from Macclesfield looked like he can play a bit too.

Our passing game ran them ragged first 20 minutes but we need a wide man with some pace to give us an outlet and that priceless ability to get around defences. Luke can do it but is rarely played wide. Young Jordan destroyed Wakefield with his speed and control but when he came on Saturday he took fearful abuse and not from the spectators. I don't like to hear that. Same happened to Ross Needham the previous home game.

With Carlos back in his rightful position we again have a goal threat.

So the glass is definitely half full not half empty. Coates was a decent keeper quite why his form dipped so is difficult to fathom. He was outstanding last year. Did he just need an arm around the shoulder and confidence rebuilding or was there more to it than that? Us spectators can only speculate.
