We've just had a good mention on Radio Manchester's Friday Night Sports Programme.

I dropped Mike Pavosovic a line asking him to give tomorrow's game a plug and he delivered it unedited, suggesting that as City didn't have a game why not get to Brantingham Road....and Jack Dearden chipped in, "Why not indeed". Every little helps!

Good stuff.

Hopefully there'll be a few there tomorrow.

Looking forward to it.

Getting excited now! When I get that feeling, I want F-A-Cup healing! Come on Road!

Did you see Palace v City? City scored from a corner...

Whatever next? Cats & dogs living together?

Peculiar game. Scrappy first half, wind didn't help. Really improved second half when Brocky & Rothel came on, played some nice stuff. Superb winner by Josh, bit like Distin's goal a couple of seasons back at Villa!

Was a bit too far away to see the penalty incident, people seemed to think it was a bit soft but we'll take it! Was about ten yards away from their sending-off, was a bit surprised but people around me seemed to think it was a definite red. Must've been daydreaming!

Didn't think the ref or linesmen were particularly good, either way.

Line up (i think!) Jones, Struminskij, P.Robinson, Gresty, Gittings, Cheetham, Chappell, Sumner(?), Hall, Bailey, Self SUBS: Rothel, Brocklehurst, Jay.

Any reason Luke wasn't in the squad?

Luke is serving a 3-match ban, from what I heard. No idea how he picked up ban. Anyone?

The penalty was a bit harsh. Didn't seem to be much contact. The sending off - very poor tackle. I would've said only a yellow but yeah, it was quite brutal!

Great goal, Josh. Great goal line block as well near the end.

Bamber Bridge next isn't it? Frightening. They just paddled Runcorn 6-0!

WEMBER-LEEEE!

Likewise - I was also thinking Josh had done well before he scored 'Goal Of The Universe' contender.

Start of the game I was like - "What's he doing there, he's not a centre back..."

End of the game - "Always said he'd make a good centre back!"

Josh was my choice also.Fabulous goal and superb goal-line clearance. As for the strange performance first half......Put it down to the wind, cos when I was stood on other side 2nd half, boy could you feel the gusts!!Penalty..... Yes he was tripped and the fact he didnt go over is a credit(?) to Danny. Sending off I thought harsh ,although it was a horrible lunge!!

Fell in the pub, the second I dumped the car at home.Thought I'd have a couple of celebratory pints just to wind down, but what with my Maine Road 'T'-shirt on, our new glossy programme, it being the real F.A. Cup and us winning, everyone was enthralled...well, I think they were.....either way, I've only just got home (9.40pm)!

Josh = 'Man of the Match' by a mile, but well done Danny Self for a quality, tireless performance and perhaps a personal one here, but, 'Well done' Brocky. It can't have been easy after the Atherton experience, but I thought his contributions from the bench at Colne and today, were first rate. His defensive midfield control and break-up play were exactly what was needed on a horrible (in football terms) windy day that needed some calmer heads. James Rothel also came off the bench to give a balanced and true squad member's performance.

Well done all!

I think James is a terrific footballer, have done since the first time i saw him play. When he's in the mood he can give any full-back at this level a torrid time. We seem to have another dimension when he's in the side, i think, and although Lee McGregor will perhaps be first-choice at left-back, i like how Robinson and Rothel team up down that left flank.

Fair play to Ian. On seeing the side i wasn't sure, then the formation took my a bit by surprise, too, but we got the result, were superb second half and the changes were key to that.

I still think we lack a natural wide-right player, and with that in mind i'd prefer to see Stevie Cheetham on that side, but i thought he too put in a really dogged showing in the middle during the second half.

MOTM Ramsbottom: Josh JUST!... Neck & neck with Danny Self I'd say, to be fair to him. Danny was kicked more than the ball all match and hardly complained (maybe he was Luke in disguise?) Cool penalty when it was really needed and even when he had no support he held the ball up brilliantly.

We should also thank our goalkeeper, who is often undersung.

Am I the only one who thought there was certainly 100+ last Saturday?
