Welcome to NLZ all at Maine Road. Am pleased to see you finally have your own forum on here. Good luck in 2009-10.

Many thanks AllyGB, Terrier Dave and Pacesetter for their help and good wishes.

Strange that we have a 'Stech' and a 'Stecheet' amongst our first contributors! Initially the number of contributors may be limted, but as the season gets underway, hopefully the fanbase will be more varied.

Right, now to get working on getting the defunct web-site up and running! This will take a little longer.I've been told to start completely from scratch, as whoever was responsible for maintaining the existing site, can no longer gain access. If I need help, you may well be hearing from me!

I was at the Manchester County FA Ground on Saturday 28/08/2004, for Maine Road 3-2 Durham City in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary round and remember it for more reasons than I am prepared to post here  . Archibold from the Durham City forum might know what I mean.
Good luck in increasing the number of contributors to the forum - a quarter-page ad in the programme, coupled with an A4 poster on the notice board, might just help?

Cheers! Up to me eyes in it..what happened to retirement! You'd really despair if you were watching my early attempts to put a web-site together, but as I've said previously, we will get there in the end. If I get really stuck, I may be coming to an expert like yourself for assistance, if you can spare the time.

I understand Ally. Beer is a stunning little Devonian resort...only a mile or two down the coast from where my parents live.

Sure, not a problem.

I'm up to my own eyes in it putting the finishing touches to the refurbishment of the Cheadle Town Online Fanzine (launched next Monday!) but will willingly give you any pointers if you wish...

That's a coincidence. I keep an eye on that site (i keep meaning to get down to Park Rd, looks like a smashing place). Infact, it was only a couple of days ago i mentioned in passing to one of the guys on here that it might be a good template for a Road website! Small world.

It has much in common with Stade de Brantingham in that parts are looking rather tired in places, but as you said earlier there can sometimes be a charm factor associated with the decay. 'Smashing' is appropriate in terms of the intermittent vandalism that Cheadle suffer.

Assuming there is no Maine Road (h or a) or a City home game, then we often make for Cheadle and it is usually a very pleasant afternoon out.

Thanks for the offer of techie help, Pole. I'm going to give it a right good go myself, but if I feel I'm falling hopelessly behind schedule, then I may well be in touch!
