Road travel to Bacup Boro on Saturday, no doubt bouyant after the 6-1 demolition of Alsagar earlier this week. Bacup are 4 points above the dreaded drop zone, making every game for them important, this end of the season. Road will hope to carry on into this match in goalscoring mood as they will need to keep the momentum going at the top. They cannot afford to lose if they are to keep pace with teams around them who still have games in hand.
Good luck to all who travel and lets hope we get the right scoreline. (apologies to Bacup fans).

Just checked the NWCL site at 5.30pm.
Seems Bacup(as per close to the drop zone) put up a good fight and won the game 2-1.
Not a good result as other around us have won.

A pity we couldn't get the result, but not to worry. Got to keep ploughing on now. Of the four clubs realistically involved at the top of the table, Road are probably now outsiders given the other clubs' games in hand (though we probably always were, both in terms of games played and expectations for the season beforehand). Y'never know, though, these things happen. We saw well-schooled, regular title challengers bottle the big one last season, so there's always hope. Whatever happens, bloody brilliant season. I've only been a (part-time) Road fan for three or four years, but i never thought i'd see them mixing it at the top of the table.

Whatever the outcome, one thing is certain, the new management have done a great job. They have taken Road forward at a gallop, so now we are neck and neck in the final few furlongs, but carrying a few pounds more weight as a handicap, so to speak.
It has been great to follow the club on the web, You tube(thanks video maestro) and Twitter(please note, I do not tweet and never will and have a certificate to prove it).
I agree, this is an uplifting season in more ways then one and whatever the ending, we can all be proud of the effort at the club from the Chairman, committee, players, staff, supporters, Chilli cook, the lot. I am glad I am associated with them, allbeit from over here.
It's not over until the final whistle, as witnessed in the top flight last season.
Non league footie, the greatest in the world, blood, sweat and HONESTY.
