In a bizarre set of events both first team and reserve team gates were abandoned with 20 mins.

Eddie Moran suffered a compound fracture of the left leg in a tackle away at Barnoldswick on 12 minutes, Eddie has had an operation this evening and will remain
In hospital recovering.

Danny Hulme suffered a dislocated and fractured wrist in the reserve team
Fixture v Malpas, Danny is hospital and will have an operation tomorrow..

It was a bad day for road and we wish the lads a speedy recovery

I would like to comment on todays games. I have been involved in amateur / semi professional football as a player, manager and general dogsbody for fifty eight (58) years and today is the worst experience I have known.

Danny and Eddie are two of the nicest lads you could wish to meet and what happened to them makes you realise how insignificant results, league positions, cup success and general football mania is. I am sure that everybody at the club (first team and reserves) wish them a speedy recovery.

I went to the reserves game today.

Didn't see the incident, but it was a fall, and by the looks on the players' faces afterwards it was quite a bad injury.

All the best to both players.

I agree with Tommo and Stech.
When incidents like these happens it brings people down to reality and makes them reappraise their attitudes to the game. Nothing can make up for what the two players have suffered with these injuries. This is non league football, out of the media glare and twitter land. It happens every day up and down the land, players injured and then laid off work for weeks on end. Despite the constant knocking of the NHS, thankfully, they live in place where they can get the best medical care.
I wish them both a good recovery and look forward to the day when the news that they are back on the field of play is announced.

I hope the young man who broke his leg on Saturday makes a full and speedy recovery. I think barlick are only charging a pound entry tomorrow night with all proceeds going to the poor lad. See you tomorrow night hopefully.

Many thanks Amber Army & Renegade. NWCFL camaraderie at its best.

Yes, Eddie & Danny - "Get well soon". You are two of Road's great servants and didn't deserve this. Here's to you both coming back fitter and even stronger.

Some coverage of the unfortunate events on Saturday in tonight's MEN.

Horrible news. Best wishes to both Eddie & Danny.

Anything we can do at the next home game, as fans?

Also, thanks to Amber & Renegade, nice one.
