Quite looking forward to this one.

Could prove a good opportunity to get a few more through the gate given Hyde are now a Conference side, and the two clubs' links to City.

Is there anything we could do to try and get a few more down - perhaps spread the word on City forums, get some posters up locally, maybe get the game a quick mention in the Evening News or on local radio on the day, if worthwhile?

(Also, could we book the vicar in advance so the extra bodies can get a pint beforehand and at half-time? Purely thinking of our guests, obviously!)

Sounds interesting this "Vicar".
I take it that this a watering hole or are MRFC looking and asking for devine intervention from above?

As "Stech" says, this is some cracker of a game coming up, local publicity could help bolster much needed coffers on the gate.

Not the news any football lover wishes to hear.

If you are reading this Eddie at a future date, "sorry for the bad news, here's to a safe and speedy recovery, good luck matey"

Terrible news.

Strangely, the reserves game today was also stopped for a very bad injury. I had to shoot off after only half an hour, but when i left they were still waiting for an ambulance and the game hadn't restarted.

I haven't been to a reserves game for at least 18 months, so sadly i can't tell you the lad's name, but from what i overheard it was a very badly broken wrist.

Best wishes to both players.

As most will know, the Hyde game was called off due to having to re-arrange the abandoned Barnoldswick game. As soon as we have a new date we'll let you all know.

I understand we are currently looking at a date in November due to Hyde's BSP commitments on night games.

As soon as we have an agreed date it will be posted on the website

Should be a guddun.

Looks a bit drizzly. Let's hope the pitch is okay and the rain holds out.

Great stuff.

Did Hyde play a strong side?

Great performance from the lads.
Good finish from Jerome taking it round the keeper from Sam's perfectly weighted through ball.
The referee bottled pointing to the spot when Sam was brought down in the area, so might have been two up at half time.
Sam wrapped it up in the last minute with a classy finish from the edge of the area after Tom Bailey had laid it off.
Every player deserves a massive pat on the back.
It might not have been Hyde's full first team but they had no real chances and were restricted to shots from outside the box.

Well done everyone

Really proud of the lads tonight. Like Hyde, we didn't put out the full first team either making the result especially impressive.

Couldn't believe the non-penalty - if Sam dived then surely it's a yellow card. Then in the second half, Kev clearly being held in the area but the ref reckoned it was 50/50... Other than that I thought the ref was decent.

Our back four did a great job. Hyde had a lot of possession in front of the penalty area but couldn't create clear cut chances. Greg picked off almost everything aimed high into the box. We looked dangerous when we broke and I thought it was a masterstroke bringing Warby on when we did; it definitely unsettled Hyde.

Top team performance. Well done.

Yes, it was remiss of me not to mention that there were a number of first teamers who were not even on the bench, Tom Bentham, Chappie, John Mason, Mattie Russell and long term injuries Eddie & Brocky.

Really strong squad.

Quick word for Killer and Matt Struminskyj who worked tirelessly in midfield and took a lot of pressure off the back four who were rock solid.

Well done again.

Sorry forgot about this game, a bit mental over here at present, more will be revealed in due course!!

A win against a higher league side, no matter what team either side puts out, is a good win.
It's a moral booster and can only add to the confidence needed to succeed by all those who played for Road.

Well done to all the hardworking staff and players.

Just a really good team performance. Everyone from Greg who caught everything second half, the defence as a whole who threw themselves infront of anything whenever Hyde got anywhere near our box, the midfield who worked tirelessly, and the strikers who always offered an outball and dragged their defence all over the show.

Really great to see a few more in attendance, too. It's amazing what a difference another few dozen make to the atmosphere. Hopefully the side's excellent form and the bits of exposure the club's getting because of that will mean we get a few more through the gates over the coming months.
