Just noticed the result from their final league game, they beat the league leaders Whaley Bridge 1-0.

Paul has done a great job with the young lads and the future of the club is looking good judging by the performances of the ressies who have come into the first team.

Well done.

Superb result.

Wish I'd been there. Sounds like the referee needed shouting at a bit more!

20/05/2012 - Paul Bennett To Move On

Maine Road FC’s reserve team manager Paul Bennett has informed the club that he is ready to move on to pastures new. Paul has looked after the second team for the last two seasons. The 2011-12 season saw a significant improvement in the reserve team’s fortunes. The club are particularly grateful for the manner in which Paul adhered to the club’s desire to primarily run the Reserves as a youth team, despite the fact that they are playing in the extremely competitive open age Cheshire League 2nd Division. This philosophy ensures that we retain a good supply of young players who know the Maine Road FC way of playing and eventually make their way into the first team.

Everybody at Maine Road FC thanks Paul for all he has done for us and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.

Shame about that, Paul has done a great job with the young lads which really paid dividends towards the end of the season when the games were coming thick and fast for the first team.

All the best Paul.
