Right chaps, now answer me a question, please.
A goal is scored right on half-time, referee indicates the goal then blows for half-time without restarting the game from the centre spot. Should the referee have restarted the game from the centre spot before ending the first half or is that not necessary? I did question the referee after the game and he said there was no time left for the restart.
I thought for a while that the goal had actually been disallowed and that I had missed a free kick.

RCA The Barnes v Washington Oasis
The visitors phoned to say they couldn't field a team (only had 6 including one bad hangover  ) so I imagine the tie will be given to The Barnes.

League Cup - 1st Round
Sedgefield NETPark 5-1 East Rainton

Goals:
Netpark - Barber 2, Walker, Dickerson, Lines
E.Rainton - Gaunt

Quite a few hangovers but a reasonably comfortable victory.
Way too much complaining and twisting on by the opposition lead to the Referee giving them nothing and rightly so!!!

Bishop middleham 2-3 Fram wmc. In a match where all goals came in first half Middleham went 1-0 up very early. But fram hit back within minutes through Stephen phillips. Within 5 mins middleham regained there lead with a stunning volley from edge of the 18 yard box which fram keeper got hand to but crashed in of the bar. Fram replied quickly with another stunning goal, a 25 yard strike from Phillips flew into the top corner. Then with 10 mins left of first half fram took the lead through Andrew jaques. Fram in controle for majority of the game and had chances to finish game off but couldn't take them. But held out firm winners.

Langley Park Rams Head 4 v 0 Bede Lodge

didn't think we had a shot on target the whole game so couldn't complain at the result. :(

Good luck to the Rams Head for the next round.

Stockton Sunday League

A match report written by myself which will be in the Gazette on Thursday

Newly promoted Dubliners entertained George and Dragon Yarm in the first league fixture of the season. The Dubliners started the brighter of the two teams passing the ball around and went 1-0 up when a long ball was headed back across goal by Chris Wrathmall, for Dominic Booth to score an easy tap in.

The Dubliners went 2-0 up when a long ball to the George and Dragon area was not dealt with. The George and Dragon defender slipped and the ball touched his arm. With players appealing for a penalty, the referee, Jamie Cann allowed play on, for Chris Wrathmall to round the keeper for his 1st of the season.

Thomas Brown, in the Dubliners goal, had to be on hand to stop Bry Stewart twice and Dan Ballantyne as the George looked to get back into the game before half time.
They did eventually get a goal back when Ballantyne chased down a long ball to square to Bry Stewart to open his account for the season.

The second half hinged on a moment of stupidity. 10 mins into the half Lee Arif was sent off for the Dubliners for spitting at two George players. The player was already walking a tightrope after being booked in the 1st half and spoken to on numerous occasions. This allowed the George and Dragon space to dominate the game in the 2nd half. Dave Barkley equalised, Adam Richardson, Bry Stewart and Gordon Mitchell adding the extras. The George and Dragon spurned numerous other chances to add to the score line, however this would have been harsh on the Dubliners.

The Man of the match was Chris Wrathmall for the Dubliners and Gordon Mitchell for the George and Dragon Yarm.
