Hardwick 3 v 1 Home Bargains (Liverpool)
Game played at Guiseley FC Nethermoor Park Ground
Hardwick Scorers : Owens (2), Hannah

In a fast paced competitive game Hardwick found themselves behind 1-0 at half time and it looked like they were having 'one of those days' after hitting the woodwork on 3 occasions before what only can be described as, an horrific 'kung fu style' challenge on Hardwick's Chris Stockton that left the striker with bad facial injuries. The subsequent Red Card for the HB midfielder proved to be the turning point as Home Bargains chose to sit in and try to hold out, that gave Hardwick a foot in the door. Skipper Jamie Owens opened it with a right foot shot to level the scores and just a few minutes later he produced a well placed header from the edge of the box to give Hardwick the lead. With lots of injury time due to treatment following the red card incident, Home Bargains pushed for an equaliser and left spaces which Kallum Hannah used to great effect to run through and finish well low past the keeper. Cue mayhem, pitch invasion by the Hardwick massive etc.....

An unbelievable but deserved result by Hardwick today against all the odds. For a bunch of lads who don't get any 'expenses' and I think had to contribute towards the cost of their own Bus today, to reach the final of a National competition full of sides with sponsorship and huge budgets cannot be underestimated.

Whatever happens in the final they thoroughly deserve their day in the spotlight at a professional stadium, congratulations to Andy Westwood and Midge, John, Malla and all the players hope you have a great day I'll be there

UP THE WICK

PS: The final will be played against New Salamis (London) on April 23rd venue TBC.....

Well done to Hardwick and all involved.

Interesting to see noticeable goalscorers, Owens, Hannah and also see Stockton name mentioned. Who else plays for them from the NL?

We are blessed to have such a strong leagues up here not just on a Saturday but also a Sunday!

Best of luck in the final lads!

Majority of the squad play for Stockton Town, theres a couple who don't play for anyone on Saturdays like Craig Bishop (ex Synners and Guisbrough) note that Chris Stockton no longer plays for Stockton Town he's having a Saturday 'sabbatical'!!
Owens (Aycliffe), Muligan (Synners), Poole & Roddam (Guisbrough) complete the northern league part of the squad.

All local lads playing for nowt but the thrill of winning......
