Full time score Alnwick Town 4-1 Thornaby FC Ebac Northern League Division 2

Thornaby made the long trip to Alnwick looking to bounce back from the dissapointing result against Stokesley. Alnwick took the lead when Paul Hodge pounced on a defensive mistake and slotted past Briggs with 7 minutes gone. Thornaby levelled when Briggs knocked a long ball forward which was headed on by Gary Mitchell and Danny Lofts ran a couple of yards forward and he slotted past Brain Brooks with 15 minutes gone. Alnwick then had the next chance when Wyn Fremlin hit a shot from 25 yards which hit the bar with Briggs beaten. Thornaby had the next chance when Walker played in a cross and Charlie Teasdale headed over and the teessiders then had the next chance when Walker took a corner which found the head of Michael Joseph who just headed over. Thornaby kept attacking the hosts goal with Danny Lofts hit a shot from 20 yards out to the keeper's right hand side and the keeper Brooks made a great save and the ball fell to Gary Mitchell who hit a shot with his left foot with Brooks once again saving the shot and the blue's had two final chances in the first half with the first chance happening when Robbie Keenan played in Danny Lofts who just fired wide and the final chance for Thornaby happened when Walker who cut a ball back and Carlton MCcabe just fired wide.

Half time Alnwick Town 1-1 Thornaby FC

Alnwick took the lead against the run of play when Tony Brown hit a shot from 20 yards with Briggs beaten with 48 minutes gone. Thornaby had the next chance when Hodgson headed over. Alnwick had the next chance when Fremlin fired wide. Alnwick then scored when Wyn Fremlin fired past Briggs who got a touch on it but it still went it with 70 minutes gone and the hosts scored again when they caught Thornaby going forward trying to get a goal back and Fremlin scored his second goal of the match with only a few minutes left and the hosts had the final chance when a effort was fired straiight at the keeper.

Well very good first half and to be honest we should have been 3 or 4-1 but for the keeper who made some good saves but the second half was awful to watch. The past two matches have been embarresing as the past two matches were matches which i expected us to win but we have got beat in both so come on guys lets sort it out and play how you did in the first half in every match. I won't be at the match on saturday but i am looking forward to getting updates come on Thornaby lets get back to winning!

Chances for both sides last night, game was wide open in the 2nd half as both teams pressed for goals.

The only thing different for us last night was the ability to put the ball in the net. We've been creating as many chances in other games but just haven't had the luck for them to go in.

Hope you had a safe journey back and enjoyed your time up north!
