This is a honest review of the season

July
We started the season of with a preseason game away to Gateshead Rutherford which ended 1 each with Chris Moore scoring the goal. Thornaby's next pre season friendly in which Marske United won 2-1 Jono Lake was Thornaby's goalscorer. Thornaby then had the Peter Morris memorial game which was in honour of there former secetary who sadly passed in October 2010 and it was the visitors Guisborough won 4-0. The next pre season friendly seen Thornaby make the short trip to Billingham Synthonia and came out with a good 0-0 draw and the Teessiders final pre season game in July seen the blues travel to Green Lane which Redcar won 3-2 with goals from Chris Moore and Lee Flanagan

August
Thornaby then played two final pre season friendly's before the season kicked off with the first one against Stokesley which we got beat 3-1 with our goal coming from Lee Flanagan and Thornaby's final friendly was against North Ormesby which ended 3 each with our goals coming from Flanagan who was our top goalscorer during pre season, Paul Thorns and Newham. Thornaby's first Northern league division 2 fixture was away to Birtley with the Teessiders winning 4-3 with the goals coming from Ste Barker, Paul Thorns with 2 goals and the 4th goal coming from Ste Hodgson with Birtley pulling 2 goals back to make the game interesting. Thornaby had there first home game of the season against Seaham Red Star with the hosts getting a good 2-0 with Paul Thorns and Ste Barker getting the goals. Thornaby then hosted newly promoted Alnwick Town with the visitors winning 4-3 and Thornaby made the trip to st James Park to play Alnwick again with the hosts doing the double over us by winning 1-0. Thornaby's next game was away to Team North with the hosts winning 4-0. Thornaby's final game of the month was at home to Darlo RA with the score ending 2-1 to RA with the Thornaby goal being scored by Ste Barker.

September
Thornaby's first game in September was away to Brandon United with Thornaby including new signing and ex pro Ian Clark and it was the visitors won 3-2 with the goals being scored by Paul Thorns, Greame Baverstock and Thorns again. Thornaby then Welcomed Washington to Teesdale Park with the Teessiders going a goal behind but the hosts then responded with goals from Clark from the spot and Hodgson. Thornaby then travelled to Hebburn for thre F.A Vase match which Hebburn won 5-1. The Teessiders then travelled to Welfare Park and we won 2-1 with the goals coming from Able and Baverstock. Thornaby then celebrated there 1000th league game against Gillford Park at home with us taking a two goal half time lead with the goals coming from Baverstock and Thorns but the home said fell apart in the second half and conceded 5 goals in the 2nd period. Thornaby then travelled to play West Allotment and West Allotment came out 2-1 winners with Baverstock getting the goal. Thornaby then put in one of our best performances of the season against Esh Winning as we came out 2-0 winners with goals from Wilkinson and Hannah.

October
The blues then travelled to the Glebe and we drew 2 each with goals coming from Woodhouse and Able. Thornaby then hosted Northallerton in a derby game ast home and it was Allerton who won 6-1. November
Thornaby's first game in November was at home to bottom of the league Easington CW and we came out 7-1 winners with goals coming from Skelton 2, Thorns 2, Baverstock 2 and a goal from Lee Farrington. Thornaby then played Grangetown BC in the NR Senior cup with everybody expecting a Thornaby win but we drew 2 each in normal time and we lost 5-4 on penna's in a very dissapointing match thornaby goals were scored by Hannah and Thorns while the visitors scored to level the score with the last kick of the game.Thornaby then travelled to Hebburn Town and it was Hebburn who took a 4 goal lead into half and the visitors came out in the second half and scored 3 goals and almost got a point with a few shots going wide, the goals came from Skelton pen and two from Baverstock. Thornaby then welcomed Whitehaven to Teesdale Park and it was the hosts who opened the scoring with a Skelton pen, the visitors then scored two goals out of the blue as this was a game that we dominated but came out with nothing. Thornaby then had another home game with this game being against a much improved Morpeth side and we came out with a point in a eight goal thriller with the blues goals coming from Baverstock, Lofts, Skelton and Laing.

December
Thornaby's first game in December was away to Brandon in the EA memorial Trophy 2nd round and we came out 2-1 winners in ET with goals coming from darren Morton with the last kick of the game in normal time and Marcus Laing scored with a few minutes left in ET. We then travelled to North Shields and we got beat 1-0 with a goal with 5 minutes of added time when there was only 4 shown so it was a hard defeat to take. Thornaby then hosted Crook Town and we came away with a foertunate point with our goals coming from Laing and Skelton scored from the spot for his 12th goal off the season. Thornaby's final game off 2011 was against a much improved Darlo RA and we got beat 4-2 with the Thornaby goals coming from Laing and Skelton.

January 2012
Thornaby's first game off 2012 was against Birtley Town and it ended 2 each with Thornaby leading at half time with goals from Baverstock and Skelton but Birtley then scored two goals to get a point out of the match. Thornaby's next match was another home game this time it was against Horden CW and it was the visitors who won 2-1 with our goal coming from Laing. Thornaby then made the short trip to play Washington and it was the home side who won 3-1. Craig Skelton was the Thornaby goalscorer. The Teessiders then hosted top of the table Team Northumbria and Team North came out 2-0 winners but the home side put in a great performance.Thornaby then travelled to Seaham Park with everybody expecting us to win but it was Seaham Red Star who won 2-1.

February
Thornaby's first game in February was a 2 hour trip to Whitehaven which unfortunatly we got beat 2-1 with our goal coming from one of our Under 18 players to give us a half time lead but it was Whitehaven who scored two goals and took the points which they didnt deserve. The next two games seen us concede 7 goals in both games with the first one ending 7-1 to Esh Winning and the second one ending 7-2 against promotion chasing Gillford Park. The blues then welcomed Brandon United to Teesdale Park with a game the blues needed to win and win we did by 4 goals to 2 with the goals coming from Thad Taylor 2, Ian Clark and Marcus Laing to complete a trio of victories over Brandon. Thornaby's final game in February was against Whickham at Teesdale Park and it was the visitors who came away with a 1-0 win.

March
Thornaby's first game in March was a trip down the road to Northallerton and it was the home side who won 3-0. Thornaby's next game was at home to Chester Le Street and the match ended 2-2 with the Thornaby goals coming from Danny Lofts and a good teram goal which was finished by Mark Lilley. The Teessiders was a hour and a half trip to play Gillford Park in the EA Trophy quater final and it was the visitors who won 2-1 it was the home side who scored first and Gary Mitchell levelled from the penna spot and there winning goal was a very dubious goal to send them through with a few minutes left. Thornaby's next game was away to Ryton which ended 1 each with the Thornaby goal being scored by Danny Lofts and the Teessiders final game in March was against Crook Town and Crook ran out 4-1 winners.

April
Thornaby's first game in April was against bottom of the Table Easington CW which Thornaby won 5-3 with the Thornaby goals coming from Lilley, Hodgson, Thors ( for his 9th goal off the season) and two goals from Mitchell. Our next game was against promotion chasing Hebburn Town and it was Hebburn who came out with a 2-1 win with the Thornaby goal coming from Paul Thorns. Thornaby then travelled to Morpeth for our final away game of the season and the game ended 1 each with the Thornaby goal coming from Gary Mitchell. Our final game seen us play North Shields at home and the visitors run out 6-0 winners.

Well my view of the overall season is that we started the season really well and after the 7-1 win vs Easington at home seen us only pick up about 4 points in 16 games with a few things going against us and also not being able to score the goals when we had some easy chances and in some games it looked as though we wernt interested in playing so that was dissapointing and i believe that we could have been top 6 if we had taken the chances that we had in games as to be honest there wasnt many teams who i can remember actually dominating us. But i hope that you all have a good summer and i will see you guys at pre season training in July :)
