Thornaby welcomed Chester Le Street to Teesdale Park with the hosts looking to get back to winning ways. The opening 7 minutes was a midfield battle and it was the hosts who had the first chance of the game when a cross was played in and Marcus Laing headed over. The Teessiders then won a penna when Greame Baverstock was fouled in the box and he stepped up and he put the penna wide and the Teessiders then had the next chance when Ian Clark hit a shot which Rookes saved. Chester Le Street had their opening chance of the match when Luke Procter hit a shot from a free kick which went around the wall with Briggs strandered in the Thornaby goal and The Cestrians then had the next chance when a cross was played in and Scott Swaston headed towards goal with Briggs making a great save in the Thornaby goal and Chester Le Street continued to put pressure on the Thornaby goal when the next effort hit the side netting.

Chester Le Street had the first chance in the second half which went wide. Chester Le Street then opened the scoring when Tom Vickers hit the post and Jack Procter tapped home with 53 minutes gone. Thornaby levelled when Danny lofts drilled under Rookes under the keeper with 66 minutes gone. The Cestrians then took the lead when Dan Smith scored straight from the corner with 69 minutes gone. The hosts then levelled when a team move involving Subsistutes Charlie Raby and Lewis Hopson and Mark Lilley recieved the ball and took on a few Chester Le Street players and he hit a shot which went in with only 2 minutes left to play.
Well what a game. I thought that we were the better side in the first 25 minutes in the first half and i thought that they dominited the last 20 minutes and i THOUGHT that the second half both sides played well. Well done guys for showing character by coming back with only two minutes left looking forward to the game tommorrow against Gillford Park in the quater finals of the Armstrong Cup come on Thornaby
