Full time score Seaham Red Star 2-1 Thornaby FC

Thornaby FC travelled to Seaham Park looking to get some confindence back into our performances. Thornaby had the ball in the back of the net with a few minutes gone but the goal was ruled out for an infringement. Seaham had there first chance of the game when a cross was played in and Danny Corbett headed over and the hosts also had the next when a cross was played in and no one could get a touch on. The hosts continued to have shots at the visitors goal with the first effort went past the post and just a few minutes later Michael Chapman played a ball across goal which no one again could get a touch. Seaham opened the scoring when Kevin Gordon hit a shot on the half volley which went into the top corner with 42 minutes gone. Thornaby had the last chance in the first half when Greame Baverstock hit a shot which was saved by Ruan Graham in the Seaham goal

Hall time Seaham Red Star 1-0 Thornaby FC

The visitors levelled just after half time when a first shot was saved by Graham in the Thornaby goal but Marcus Laing tapped home the rebound to make it 1 each.Thornaby had the next chance when Darren Morton hit a shot which went wide and the visitors then had the next chance when Marcus Laing hit a shot which Graham saved well in the Seaham goal. Seaham then had the next chance in the game when the Thornay keeper coming out of his goal and got contact on the ball but was scrambling to get back to his goal with a Seaham player hitting a shot which just went wide. Seaham then scored on 87 minutes when Thornaby went on the attack and lost the ball and Kevin Gordon got the ball and outmuscled Ste Hodgson and he squared the ball to Michael Chapman to tap home.Thornaby then had a penna appeal turned down when Darren Morton hit a shot which was blocked by a defender with a couple of Thornaby players think it hit his hand.

Well i thought that we were poor in the first half but we were miles better and were the better team in the second half and i think that we deserved a point out of the game but Seaham scored a late winner so it proves that you have to take your chances when you get them.

Pretty unbiased report Matthew. Dispute that Thornaby were the better side in the second half - thought it was pretty even apart from the 5 minutes after your equaliser were you were definitely on top! Think both sides had decent penalty claims to be honest, and Clark could have seen red on another day for an aggressive 'scissor' challenge but I'll never understand referees!

Anyway best of luck for the remainder of the season and I'm delighted that the Club seems to be over the uncertainties of the ground issues!
