ull Time Score Thornaby FC 2-2 Brandon United Ebac Northern League Division 2 (Att:65)

Thornaby welcomed Brandon United to Teesdale Park with the hosts looking to carry on from Saturday's 1-0 Win Vs Tow Law while Brandon were also looking to carry on from Saturday's 2-1 Win Vs Hebburn Town.

Thoranby made 1 change from Saturday with Taylor Crainey dropping to the bench due to injury with Jake Marron coming into the team. New Signing Aaron Foley was on the bench.

Thornaby created the first chance of the evening when Jake Marron's cross found Karl Charlton who headed straight at Orton. The visitors had there first effort when Niall Fingleton's header from 12 yards went wide. It was the home side who then regained control of the match and had the following effort when a ball was flicked onto Gary Mitchell who spotted Tom Orton of his line but his half volleyed effort from 25 yards went past the post and moments later James Rowe's pass found Kurtis Howes who fired wide of the goal from 10 yards out. The home side created more chances when Michael Joseph's free kick from 25 yards went straight into Orton's hands and then moments later Gary Mitchell laid the ball to Daniel Brunskill whose effort was straight at Orton in the Brandon net. Thornaby deservedly took the lead 4 minutes into added time when Kurtis Howes was fouled on the edge of the box but Ref David Watson played advantage and the ball fell to STEPHEN MORRISON who fired the ball home from 20 yards out with the ball going under Orton as it went in.

Half Time Thornaby FC 1-0 Brandon United

Thornaby had the first effort of the second half when Karl Charlton was played in and Orton came out well to save the effort and just seconds later a Thornaby corner from the left seen Charlton head towards goal but his header was cleared off the line. Brandon had there first chance of the second half when Kieran Duffy-Weekees hit his effort straight at Gibbs in the home goal. The home side then almost made it 2-0 when Orton's clearance fell to Kurtis Howes who took the ball 2 or 3 yards further forward and drilled his effort just past the post. Brandon levelled the match against the run of play when Anthony Phillipson was played in and he tried to go round Gibbs but he was fouled by the home keeper with Referee Dave Watson pointing to the spot and DANIEL QUINE stepped up to convert to the keeper's left with Gibbs going the other way with 70 minutes. The home side showed character when they took the lead again once again 3 minutes later when Great persistence by Karl Charlton to win the ball back and he crossed for GARY MITCHELL who fired home to give the home side the lead. The visitors levelled again though a minute later when Thornaby gave the ball away just outside there own penalty area and Sub DANE ELTRINGHAM curled home from 18 yards out with Gibbs having no chance in the home goal. Both sides looked to get the winner but a final pass or cross was letting both sides down but the home side did have one final chance to win the match when Mitchell Morris free kick from the left hand side found the head off Michael Joseph but his header from 12 yards went over the bar.

Man of the Match:Kurtis Howes

In my opinion i thought we were very unlucky not to win the match last night just made 2 errors which unfortunately cost us the win but another point towards safety credit to the lads who have been brilliant in the past 2 matches.

Also fair play to Brandon for showing fighting spirit to level the match twice some good people at Brandon wish them all the best for the rest of the season.
