Thornaby hosted high flying Stockton town and manager Paul Burton stuck with the team that had been defeated at Billingham town with Steve Morrison moving into an holding midfield role swopping with Taylor Crainey who started at right back . The visitors started quickly and the first test of Liam Gibbs was stopping an shot from Kevin Hayes . Thornaby were relying on the pace of youngster Kurtis Howes and Gibbs pulled off an good save from Sonni Coleman , the home side had little to offer in attack . HT 0 -0

The second half the game started to open up and Stockton introduced prolific scorer Kallum Hannah . Thornaby made an sub with injury to Michael Joseph leading to ex Northallerton defender Danny Crawford being introduced at centre back .
After 75 mins the stalemate was broken when a trip in the area by Crainey lead to referee Wood giving an penalty, which was dispatched by Hannah 1-0 .The home side continued battling away and Ben Jackson replaced Karl Charlton , and with 88 minutes on the clock an fine turn and shot from Danny Brunskill saw the ball hit the post and beat Jordan in the visitors goal . It looked like Thornaby had got an much needed point , however after 93 mins and Stockton piling forward the ball came to defender Alan Cossavella who struck the ball through the crowd past Gibbs and gave the visitors an dramatic winner which they celebrated .

THORNABY 1 STOCKTON TOWN 2
