Northallerton town v Thornaby SATURDAY 25TH FEBRUARY 2017 3PM KO the Blues travel to Ainderby Road looking to get something from the game a full squad is available apart from keeper Liam Gibbs who is on holiday but manager Paul Burton will be looking to strengthen the team before the cut off for signings at the end of the month

Thornaby visited Northallerton with former keeper Adrian Belbowski making his debut , and after 8 minutes his attempted clearance fell short and Stewart Owen lobbed the ball back over his head into the net to open the scoring . Thornaby were struggling to get going and went further behind when an corner was headed home by former Thornaby and Norton centre half Marcus Laing to make it 2-0 . Just before the break an rare Thornaby attack lead to an good cross by Nico Weatherald which was headed back across the goal for Danny Brunskill to head home to make it 2-1 at the break .

HT NORTHALLERTON 2 THORNABY 1
Straight after the interval an ball into the box was not cleared and Nicky Martin fired home to make it 3-1 to the home side . This seemed to spur the visitors into action and it was no surprise when Gary Mitchell turned Marcus Laing in the box and fired home past the keeper for 3-2 after 65 mins . The home side were having to defend and an ball into the box by Gary Mitchell saw Danny Brunskill bicycle kick the ball home for an good equalising goal
On 73 mins . The visitors introduced sub Kurtis Howes for MOM Ben Jackson in the closing stages and Steve Morrison struck an post with an shot, then Brunskill headed on the other post in what was an dramatic end , Nicky Martin fired over for the home side from close range in the dying seconds and in the end an battling point

Lads have been brilliant since the Crook but have not get the results we have deserved but got something today.
