Also regarding Lee Bythway he has left and gone to Guisborough Town.

We have played well since Paul Burton has come in but today is our toughest test sure the lads will put in a good performance.

TEAM NORTHUMBRIA 5 THORNABY 1
Thornaby visited league leaders Team Northumbria with Lee Bythway transferred to Gusiborough town and Michael Joseph being the only change from last weeks draw with Alnwick town, the visitors started slowly with TN having an lot of possession
Liam Gibbs pulled of two great saves to prevent the home side scoring .
After ten minutes the busy Nathan Evans brought an good save out of the home keeper .After 15 mins slackness in defence lead to Scott Gunn opening the scoring for the students . After 30 min an corner was headed home by Michael Joseph to level the score . Both teams were going for the next goal but at half time it was level

The second period saw Thornaby slow to start again and two goals in two minutes from Dibb Fuller and Carr finished the game for Thornaby . Keeper Gibbs again brought off some excellent saves and Nathan Evans continued to try and get the visitors back in the game but another goal by Scott Gunn made it 4-1 and on the final whistle Bowles made it an easy win 5-1 , in an disappointing second period , the score could have been higher without youngster Liam Gibbs and midfield stopped playing

Thornaby manager Paul Burton said; “We were ok in the first half, e started slowly and they dominated the first 20. We settled into the game, played some good stuff and got back to 1-1. I genuinely believed that we could get something from the game at half time. We spoke about the start of the second half being important and that we didn’t concede. They ran the second half at their pace and scored a few more but just as disappointed at our defending for all the goals we conceded today. At times we look ok, we can keep the ball well and create chances but we have no chance of winning a game if we defend like we did today. We move into the next game and start again.
