Thornaby welcomed vastly improved Bedlington Terriers to Teesdale Park with the home side making 3 changes with Liam Gibbs replacing Daniel Bowman in goal, Jack McGurk came in for the injured Michael Joseph and Jonathan Burton replacing Ryan Bennions who was dropped to the bench.

It was the home side who started the better and should have taken the lead when Ben Jackson played in Louis Johnson who beat the offside trap but could only hit his effort straight at Jack Wells in the visitors goal. Bedlington had the following effort which just flew past the post . Thornaby took the lead when Ben Jackson played in LEWIS GREEN on the right hand side and he cut inside and his effort from a acute angle found the net with 23 minutes gone. The lead only lasted 4 minutes though as LEE SCOTT tapped home from a similar angle as Thornaby took the lead from. Thornaby then retook the lead though when NATHAN EVANS strike from 25 yards flew into the top corner with Wells having no chance in the visitors goal with 29 minutes gone but the scoring didn't end there in a very entertaining first half which seen the Terriers level the match when a cross from the left found the head off unmarked LEE SCOTT whose header went into the far corner with 34 minutes gone. The visitors almost took the lead before half time when Kyle Oliver was inside the box and his effort was goal bound but Jonathan Burton blocked it out for a corner.

Half Time Thornaby FC 2-2 Bedlington Terriers

The Terriers had the first effort off the second half when Kyle Oliver's effor from just outside the box was just deflected over the bar and the visitors then had the following effort when Jack Foalle's effort from the left hand side off the box was saved by Gibbs in the home goal. Thornaby had there one and only chance off the second half when Louis Johnson ran 20 yards with the ball and he shot from 25 yards and his low shot hit the post with no Thornaby player there to follow it up. Bedlington then took the lead when Bedlington were correctly awarded a penalty by Referee Mr Kitchen and LEE SCOTT stepped to convert to the Keeper's right with 82 minutes gone. Thornaby tried to push to level the match and in a bid to do so were caught out and JACK FOALLE ran onto the ball and fired home with 90 minutes gone.

Good first half performance by us going forward but defensively very poor once again need to sort our defence out as some of the goals have been really sloppy. Second half poor on both fronts.

2 big games coming up Northallerton Town away in the Senior Cup Wednesday night and Saturday at home to Durham City hopefully we can make some more signings to get out of trouble.
