Thornaby FC welcomed Guisborough Town for the second Peter Morris memorial. The first match ended 4-0 to Guisborough Town so the hosts were looking to do better this year. It was the visitors who had the opening chances in the first minute when Danny Earl was through on goal and Briggs made a good save in the Thornaby and the rebound fell to a Guisborough player and he hit a shot which just went wide. Thornaby then had a good chance which just went wide . Guisborough when Danny Earl hit the post and the Priorymen had the final chance in the first half when Gary Wood hit a great shot from 20 yards which just went wide.

Thornaby then had the next chance when our number 9 (sorry dont know his name) hit a free kick which just went wide. Guisborough then had the next chance when Liam mcPhillips headed against the bar. The priorymen then had the next chance when there Decasmo fired over the bar when it looked easier to score. Guisborough then scored the winner when Liam McPhillips headed home with a minute left.
Well gutted that we got beat but i am a really proud of the way we held our own agaisnt a good first division team as i thought we looked good in every department but we lacked a bit of quality in the final third but it will come.Although saying that there is no doubt saying that Guisborough just about deserved to win so well done to Guisborough and unlucky guys we played well and everything will click into place soon
