Fylde Borough Council were sympathetic to Wrea Green and had clearly made the decision before the meeting was held. It's going to be appealed to an independent body immediately. It's far from over. Their reason for rejecting it was "we don't want this in our village." They're a bunch of rich snobs.
DFS and their legal team believe they have a great chance of winning the appeal, which will cost both DH and the council hundreds of thousands of pounds.
If worst comes to the worst, as stated in the club statement, the club will search for more land and build there.
