your club's contact address seem to be in the middle of green belt with no football pitch in sight, while the directions to the ground lead to a different location where there appears to a football pitch dug out of a potato field, with no stands or terraced area? My instinct tells me this cannot be right, but I have a nagging worry that it is.

its an old picture but thats the location of the ground eastie --if you go on google earth street view on the lane below the location and pan round you can get a good view of the ground across the fields

You'll be travelling through Wrea Green down the country road. Turn into the Birley Arms car park and go to the end of it. There is a opening which leads upto the ground. You won't be impressed but it's only leased.
