After 6 years at the helm Bill Fisher has stepped down as Chairman.

The new Chairman is David Bussey and as well as being a Brandon Lad is a lifelong supporter of the Club. David's Wife, Jayne, also has the lease on the Clubhouse so it is a real family affair.

Bill will remain a committee member and will help David settle into the role but hopes to adopt a more useful role as one of the Club Trustees.

On stepping down Bill said "It has been a tough 6 years but the objective of keeping the Club going has been achieved. It is now time for a younger person to take the Club forward. David will get my full support as we move the Club forward."

Wow! Bill has been tireless in his endeavours to keep Brandon United alive, not to over egg the pudding I don't think there would still be a Brandon United without his efforts and in the face of such apathy and adversity.

So I hope you enjoy your 'retirement' and maybe now the garden will get more attention!

And best of luck to Dave...he'll do anything to have more people in the clubhouse!

Entirely agree Steve, without Bill and a very few tireless others (Barry, Ian et al), there wouldn't be a Brandon United still playing football in the Northern League. Thanks for the last six years Bill. Welcome to this side of the committee - don't think you're going to get off easily mind, there's still jobs to be done on match days.....

And good luck Dave. Very enthusiastic for Brandon United and I think you're going to need to keep that enthusiasm with you. Fortunately we have a larger committee and Bill is still in the wings to assist you.

Forward Brandon!!!!!

It has been a pleasure being around the people involved in Brandon over the past few seasons and Bill in particular is someone that I will always admire for his friendliness and dedication to the Brandon cause. Please pass on our best to Bill and all the wonderful people involved in Brandon and best wishes for the future!

Would just like to echo the comments above and thank Bill for all of his time and effort as Chairman of Brandon. He's done a fantastic job at securing the clubs future and as others have already mentioned, the club probably wouldnt be there now without him and a few others (you know who you are gents I wont name and shame you!!!).

Whilst we're in the silly season of players haggling for ridiculous wages and huge signing on fees, its easy to forget the tireless and thankless roles that people behind the scenes at clubs take in order to just keep clubs alive.

Enjoy your new relaxed role Bill!
