Your thoughts please...................

My Own................?

1.) Inept officials (mainly for both sides, but majority of decisions went against Brandon)
2.) Clear & definite foul on 'keeper for Shields first goal. (see note 1)
3.) When score at 1-0 to Shields, Laidlaw headed ball WELL AHEAD of 'keeper, but then clatted into him..... 'goal' wiped off. (see note 1.)
4.) Clear and definite handball by Shields defence in own area. (see note 1.)
5.) Linesman on near side to dug-outs who had clearly forgot to bring a) his glasses
b) a girdle
c) a right arm (to flag for a decision for Brandon. (see note 1.
6.) A lot of elbows flaying and studs showing in tackles committed by Shields that were missed by the officials. (See.. you get the picture)
7.) Fairly equal game considering one team was third from top, the other bottom of the league.
8.) Foul mouthed intimidation by the South Shields dug-out aimed primarily at the officials. (Hey - maybe thats why so many decisions went their way........?)
9.) Will be interesting to see IF Shields are still in this division next year how the zero tolerence on swearing etc.... goes with Shields because of number 8 above.
10.) To be honest, I dont think either 'keeper had that much to do today, neither had a direct shot at goal to save. And yet, somehow, Shields won 2-0.
11.) Lots of vociferous, good support from Shields who arrived in their multitude - we apologise on our part that the 'tea lady' decided to throw a sicky just before the game started and meant there was no tea hut available.

Considering the hammering your lads have taken week in week out I think it speaks volumes about their character that they can work so hard and battle for each other like they did today. Regardless of the result, regardless of your season they should be proud of that attitude.

Shields put on a poor performance today, not representative of the season so far. We came away with 3 points that were possibly a bit fortunate............but as a Shields supporter I have seen so much luck go against us this season that I take ever piece of fortune gladly ;-)

Good luck for the rest of the seaon lads

PS, any luck we got today was probably some sort of natural or religious justice...........brought to us in place of pies!!!!!

The officials didn't have alot to do which is credit to both teams, the little the ref had to do he got wrong, how can you give a goal for shields by allowing a challenge on the keeper and then a short time later disallow a one at the other end in almost identical circumstances,he was a bit to pally pally with the shields ass manager after the game for my liking considering he had directed every type of F word at the officials, anyway enough bleating.
Another decent performance and if we had a bit more threat up front it could have been different, even shields fans would admit they were poor, not a massive gap between 3rd and bottom on that performance.
Move on and look forward to tuesday at Ryton
