sunderland west end 4 brandon united 3.wasnt at this game,so cant comment,if anyone can comment then it will be appreciated,ie performance wise, goalscorers.

coxhoe athletic 0 brandon united 5

we made our annual short trip to beechfield park in our second pre season friendly, lee had 22 players at his disposal and we came away with a comfortable victory albeit all the goals were in the 2nd half as coxhoe faded.the 6 youngsters we have signed look decent aquisitions, although it has to be seen whether the demands of regular northern league will suit them.scorers were eltringham,duffy-weekes,wren(pen),burton and moore.got to say as usual coxhoe is a fantastic set up and good luck to them for the coming season.

The West End game was very open. Both sides looked good going forward but not as good at the back. Could have ended 10-10. End to end stuff. Brandon looked to have some pace and were quick on the break. West End opened the scoring from a 14th minute penalty. It was 1-1 two mins later. West End restored their lead from a 26th minute header. Brandon equalised in the 34th minute but West End restored their lead again 4 mins later to go in 3-2 leaders at the break. A bizarre own goal made it 3-3 in the 51st minute as a West End back pass eluded the keeper who was out of position and rolled into an empty net. West End restored their lead in the 54th minute to make it 4-3. Both sides had several chances to add to their tally after that but neither did and West End just about deserved their narrow win.

consett tournament results.

brandon united 5 chester le st town 1

good performance against a team at our level, apart from the first ten minutes we were in control, and at last kieran has found his rightful position.lets hope he stays there all season.we were at full strength and once again the young lads didnt disappoint, especially tom goundry who was exceptional along with the ever dependable michael searby and kyle in the holding role.goalscorers were duffy-weekes (2),quine,white and young owen stephenson.final on saturday against consett who beat local rivals annfield plain 4-1(well i think that was the score if anyone can confirm this or amend it).

brandon united 1 consett 10

outclassed simple as that by a team i expect to be no lower than 4th in this years first division title race.we were without searby and turnbull others had to play out of position and it simply just wasnt going to be enough against this calibre of opposition.kieran had to move back to a midfield role and it just doesnt suit him,not his fault that we got mullered big style,we now know how far we need to progress just to even compete at a higher level.nobody likes losing like this but at least lee knows now that we are carrying people and that has to be a positive.thanks to consett for the hospitality shown on both days.newton aycliffe away weds 26th ko 7pm.
