A truly deserved victory today to build on the draw against Crook in mid week, but it was a day the defenders put the attackers to shame with three of the four goals comming from them. It was Alnwick who could have taken the lead early in the first half a corner was headed towards goal only for Ryan Graham to somehow claw the ball from under the cross bar. Brandon then took the lead when Scott Hine scored from a rebound it was then the turn of the defenders Liam Bowes scored the second after a good run and finnish to make the half time score 2-0. Further goals came in the second half from Gerard Wraith with a lovely left foot curler into the top corner from a tight angle after taking a right wing corner the ball was headed back to him and he checked onto his left foot to score into the far corner, The fourth goal was a little fortunate when Owen Lancaster scored direct from a long free kick which was lofted into the area and evaded everyone to drop into the net. Full time 4-0 I must give credit to the Alnwick players because they where dangerous going forward throughout the game and even at 4-0 their spirits never dropped. But a welcome first win and hopefully we can take the performance into monday's game at Esh Winning Kick Off 1pm
